The SOPHA (Strengthening of Public Health Associations) Program is looking for a student volunteer to help with English to Spanish translation for one of its delegate attending the Canadian Conference for International Health (CCIH) from Monday October 26 to Wednesday, October 28 at noon. Although we are not in a position to offer a salary, we will cover the full registration to the conference, allowing the student to attend all conference sessions and events, even when not required to help us with translation.

The theme of the 2009 CCIH Conference is “Health Equity: Our Global Responsibility on International Health” and will examine inequities of health status, and the impact on the health of marginalized, vulnerable and Indigenous populations to changing environments, whether these changes are due to climate, technology, the economy or threats to human security. The conference will be held at the Crown Plaza Hotel in downtown Ottawa. More information about the conference can be found at: http://www.csih.org/en/ccih/overview.asp.

If you are bilingual (English-Spanish), interested in global health issues and available to help out with the translation for 2 ½ days for our delegate during the Conference, please contact Ms. Annie Horricks at the Canadian Public Health Association ([log in to unmask] or 613-725-3769 ext. 197) before October 16th.
