On behalf of Bridgepoint Health, the Dalla Lana School of Public Health,
and the Atlantic Health Promotion Research Centre, Dalhousie University, I
cordially invite you to attend a research symposium on June 5. The
symposium examines a major global health issue, obesity, and the
fascinating and important role of the built environment in influencing
youth health.

The program of research, funded by CIHR and the Heart and Stroke Foundation
of Canada, involved almost 400 students from rural, urban, and suburban
settings in high and low socio-economic neighbourhoods. The studies ranged
from GIS mapping of "youth footprints" to using photo-voice methods where
young people took pictures of elements of the built environment that work
for and against their health.

We welcome your participation in this event.

Best regards,

Renee F Lyons,

Bridgepoint Chair in Complex Chronic Disease,

Bridgepoint Health and the Dalla Lana School of Public Health,

Faculty of Medicine, University of Toronto.
