The World Federation of Public Health Associations announces its 8th
International Congress to be held in Arusha, Tanzania, 12-16th October
1997.  The meeting will be hosted by the Tanzanian Public Health
Association.

WFPHA is a non-governmental organization composed of national public
health associations from 48 countries around the world.  WFPHA
Congresses are held every three years and are co-sponsored by WHO and
UNICEF.

Two Positions Available at the American International Health Alliance
(AIHA), Washington, DC

1.  Administrative & Financial Officer, Almaty, Kazakhstan
The American International Health Alliance (AIHA) is a non-profit group
which supports health care assistance projects in the NIS and CEE, under
grants from USAID.  AIHA is seeking an Administrative and Financial
Officer who will coordinate logistics and support services for
partnerships, provide financial accounting and monthly reports, assist
in coordinating program activities, and supervise local staff in their
Almaty, Kazakhstan office.

The position requires:  3-5 years experience in international
bookkeeping, preferable with an NGO; Prior field experience in office
management, administration and programs support;  Familiarity with
Federal cost principles; knowledge of internal auditing practices
helpful, but not required; and BA/BS in International Studies or
Business.

2.  CEE Program Analyst
AIHA is seeking a Program Analyst who will manage a portfolio of Health
Care Assistance Projects in Central and Eastern Europe, including
logistics support, monitoring workplan progress, projecting and
analyzing expenses and ensuing adherence to AIHA/USAID policies.
Maintains documentation and data; oversees special projects, including
Multinational task forces.  Acts as liaison with AIHA overseas offices.

The position requires: B.A./B.S.; graduate work or work experience
preferable.  Demonstrated interest in Eastern Europe, Health Care or
Health Management, or International Relations desirable.  Knowledge of
spreadsheet and word processing software.  Foreign language (E.
European) skills are advantageous, but not required.

Training Institute for Primary Health Care and Aids Task Force
Witbank, South Africa

The Training Institute for Primary Health Care and Aids Task Force is an
organization that deals mainly with prevention, control and counselling
PLWA, plus primary health care.  They work with people(community) at
grassroot level.  Their target groups include; youth, migrant labours,
teachers, traditional healers, truck/taxi divers and also mothers.

They would very much like to be in contact with any Canadian who is
interested to share information and even to visit them in South Africa,
should they be traveling there in the future.  They are interested in
being introduced or linked to any donor agency who could possibly
provide funding.
