Environmental Health Consultant: Canadian Partnership for Children's Health and the Environment and Ontario Public Health Association.

The Canadian Partnership for Children's Health and Environment (CPCHE) is a collaborative of eleven groups that are working together to improve children's environmental health in Canada.  Ontario Public Health Association (OPHA) is a voluntary, charitable association that provides leadership on issues affecting the public's health and strengthens the impact of people who are active in public and community health throughout Ontario. OPHA is a core partner within the CPCHE constellation of partners and a leading voice on children's environmental health issues in Canada. A Trillium grant has provided OPHA and CPCHE with an opportunity to collaborate on this project, among others.

The Children's Environmental Health Consultant will report to and work with the CPCHE Secretariat to improve and enhance CPCHE's ability to support the work of local partners, health experts, service providers and community-based groups to deliver high quality children's environmental health programming in their communities.

The primary roles and responsibilities of this position are to:
* Lead, coordinate, promote and support the dissemination of CPCHE health and environment materials designed for health professionals, service providers, community based children's organizations and the general public in strategic locations across Ontario;
* Work with existing CPCHE partners and potential network partners to identify and support other local Children's Environmental Health champions in key strategic regions of Ontario;
* Position CPCHE as a leading organization in the protection of children's health and the environment for kids;
* Coordinate and support the implementation of the Local Champions Project.
* Outreach to health professionals, environmental groups, health and children's service providers and general public about CPCHE by contributing directly to train-the-trainer events, public education workshops, service provider seminars and other events deemed appropriate by the CPCHE Secretariat;
* Other tasks as assigned

Qualifications and Experience
Undergraduate degree in environmental studies, health science, health promotion or a related discipline; additional graduate level study in these areas a strong asset

This is a two year, part time (0.8 FTE) contract employment position.  This position is based in Toronto and will serve all of Ontario.
