Colleagues:

We have a paper going to the AJCN which requires energy expressed in
joules.  We had our diet expressed as nutrients per 1000 calories.
This is common convention, helps put it into perspective
since you can easily multiply the values by 2 for 2000 kcal, 3 for
3000 kcal, etc.

Now to convert to joules we could consider the following:

Protein  63.3 g/ 1000 kcal
           15 g/ KJ
         75.6 g/ 5 KJ

Have you seen dietary data expressed any of these other ways (besides
per 1000 kcal)?  Is there a "convention" under development?  Does anyong
have a preference?

Any help would be appreciated.
