Workplace Health Co-Ordinator and Substance Abuse Prevention Promoter

THE CITY OF HAMILTON AND THE REGIONAL MUNICIPALITY OF HAMILTON-WENTWORTH


HEALTH PROMOTION POSITIONS

Working within a multi-disciplinary health promotion team at a Teaching
Health Unit, a Workplace Health Co-ordinator is needed to plan develop,
implement and evaluate workplace health promotion programs, policies events
and strategies.

Applicants with a Master's Degree in Health Science, Public Health, Health
Education, Health Promotion or related area; sound knowledge of workplace
health issues, behaviour change theory, policy analysis and development;
with demonstrated competence in program planning and evaluation, health
promotion strategies, community mobilization plus written and verbal
communication will be preferred.  Candidates with a baccalaureate degree in
health or applied sciences with 2 years experience in the above areas and
strong research and analytical skills will also be considered. Salary based
on $44,319 to $50,361 per annum and attractive benefits package. Resumes

The Teaching Health Unit is also recruiting for a Substance Abuse Prevention
Promoter.  The successful applicant will plan, develop, implement and
evaluate substance abuse prevention programs.  Applicants must possess a
Master's Degree in Health Science, Health Promotion or related areas.
Candidates with a baccalaureate degree in health or applied sciences with 2
years experience and strong research and analytical skills will also be
considered.  Salary based on $45,867 to $52,122 per annum.  Resumes accepted
until October 13, 2000.
