The Pan American Health Organization is pleased to inform you about its
new publication "Setting Up Health Care Services Information Systems."

We would like to draw your attention to this very process-oriented book
that discusses the implementation of information systems and gives useful
information on practical matters such as software solutions,
project-management and end-user involvement. One of this publication's
most significant contributions is the description of the functional
specifications of information systems applications in the health care
services.

The book is targeted at health care professionals, health service
administrators and information technology managers as well as anyone who
has a pragmatic interest in health information systems and related
technology.

The publication comes with a CD-ROM which contains all chapters in PDF
(Portable Document Format). Since one of the aims of the book was an
international context, studies of health information issues in Latin
America and the Caribbean are included in the book, and the CD-ROM's
contents are in both English and Spanish.

More information about this book including the table of contents is
available at http://publications.paho.org/
