Always interesting to see when these messages are released. The following
bit of communications advice comes from its accompanying URL.

"News Conferences and Briefings By Laura Brown Communication News, June 1996

Excerpts from a chapter in Laura Brown's book, Media Relations in Your Spare
Time, published in 1995 by the National Association of Manufacturers,
provide this good news: You don't have to spend $15,000 on a public
relations firm to hold a successful news conference. Instead, rely on your
staff, who know your message and your best spokespersons. Other tips: a
press conference should be reserved for breaking news and held early in the
day;

AVOID MONDAYS AND FRIDAYS. ....." [emphasis added ASM]

The obverse is, 'Use Mondays and Fridays [or late Thursdays for the Friday
papers] for necessary announcements that you'd like forgotten.'

Grateful for people like Dennis who keep us from forgetting,
