Bi-lingual (Spanish) Research Associate - Qualitative Research

Center for the Advancement of Collaborative Strategies in Health at The New
York Academy of Medicine

The Center seeks a creative professional with experience conducting
qualitative research.  This position offers a unique opportunity to do
groundbreaking, innovative work in a multidisciplinary team setting.  The
successful candidate will conduct in-depth qualitative interviewing and
document review to: 1) describe how 7 community-based partnerships around
the country are actualizing components of a new theoretical model
explaining
how collaborative processes that give residents real voice in decision
making strengthen community problem solving; and 2) assess the model's
validity.  Working as part of a team, this individual will use the
qualitative findings to refine the model and develop quantitative measures
and practical tools for partnerships; he/she will also contribute to the
development of reports, papers, and presentations.

Applicants must: 1) have a master's degree; 2) have extensive experience
conducting qualitative research; 3) speak and write Spanish fluently; 4)
thrive in a multidisciplinary team environment; 5) be creative, analytical,
and have outstanding problem-solving abilities; 6) have outstanding
interpersonal skills; 7) enjoy learning, intellectual challenges, and
applying skills in new ways.  Past experience conducting participatory
research is desirable.
