For 25 years, the National Advisory Council on Aging (NACA) has provided
information and advice to the Government of Canada on all matters relating
to the aging of the Canadian population and the quality of life of seniors.
To celebrate this milestone in NACA’s history, it is pleased in this
special edition of Expression, entitled “Dear Prime Minister,” to review
the work accomplished so far and point to the areas that need special
attention if Canada is to cope effectively and humanely with the aging of
its population.

The National Advisory Council on Aging (NACA) was created to assist and
advise the Minister of Health on issues related to the aging of the
Canadian population and the quality of life of seniors.  NACA reviews the
needs and problems of seniors and recommends remedial action, liaises with
other groups interested in aging, encourages public discussion and
publishes and disseminates information on aging.  Its publication are
available on the NACA web site at: www.naca.ca

Depuis 25 ans, le Conseil consultatif national sur le troisiPme âge (CCNTA)
offre au gouvernement du Canada des conseils sur le vieillissement de la
population canadienne et la qualité de vie des aînés. Ce numéro spécial du
bulletin Expression, intitulé « Monsieur le Premier Ministre », vient
marquer cet anniversaire en soulignant le travail que le CCNTA a accompli B
ce jour et en attirant l’attention sur les démarches encore nécessaires
pour que le Canada s'adapte de maniPre efficace et humaine au
vieillissement de sa population.

Le Conseil consultatif national sur le troisiPme âge (CCNTA) a été créé
afin d’aider le ministre de la Santé et de le conseiller sur les questions
touchant la qualité de vie des aînés et le vieillissement de la population
canadienne.  Le Conseil étudie les besoins et les problPmes liés au
vieillissement, fait des recommandations, échange avec les organisations,
favorise les discussions avec le grand public, et publie et diffuse de
l’information sur le vieillissement.  Ses publications sont disponibles B
