Subject: Re: [SDOH] Ends and Means, Left Right and Centre

I'm having difficulty defining the operational characteristics of left-right-centre parties.

Are there any academic papers, or popular press, or gray literature writings that would help me to understand the characteristics of each group? Do the terms relate to the goals of each group or to the means they suggest to achieve those goals.

My experience is that the terms are used to make ad hominem rejections of various economic or social positions and avoid discussing the issues.

 Thanks
David Zitner

CAUTION: The Sender of this email is not from within Dalhousie.
BTW. The Liberal Party of Canada and the Democratic Party in the USA are NOT left centre parties.

Tuesday December 13, 2022, from 2:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. EST

This webinar will introduce the recent trend toward wellbeing policy-making by looking at how this change has emerged and especially, reports on the wellbeing policies of four central governments. By looking at how the policies put forth in Scotland, New Zealand, Finland, and Wales are structured, we will look at how these policies connect with public health concerns and the role that public health played in these cases.

This webinar is brought to you by the National Collaborating Centre for Healthy Public Policy (NCCHPP).
