I know I've read somewhere about Twain having the first telephone
in Hartford and about his tirades when the thing didn't work
properly. I thought it was in the Justin Kaplan biography but looking
quickly through the book and consulting the index has not helped.
Does anyone have the precise reference, in Kaplan or not. I'd be
grateful.

Pete
