You bring up an interesting question, Kathy. What is the
difference between a comic and a humorist? This is a distinction which
Americans have been unable to resolve. Is the distinction that of oral
verses written? Both Twain and Keillor (the living American you most often
hear associated with Twain) did/do "standup". Any suggestions on how to
resolve this?
