Saw the Great Books program on _The Adventures of Huckleberry
Finn_ on Saturday and enjoyed it, mostly. I did find it curious
that the young fellow who played Huck in the dramatic scenes
lacked the proper accent, making for some unnecessary contrast
with the voice-over narration from the book. The discussion of
the ending was adroitly done, though I disagreed with the speaker
(James Cox, I believe) who said that we dislike Tom Sawyer
afterwards. That's a horse I refuse to get on.

Does anyone know if there has ever been a film or television
production of the book that came anywhere near Twain's original?
