The California _Roughing It_ corrects the spelling in Ch. 29 from
"Clagget" to "Clagett" (958). I can't tell from the notes whether the
first edition misspelling was a printer's error or a manuscript error.

"William Horace Clagett (1831-1901) was an old friend of Clemens's from
Keokuk, Iowa, who arrived in Nevada Territory in September 1861. . . .
Elected Republican congressman from Montana in August 1871 (at which time
Clemens inserted the parenthetical identification)" (627, endnote)
