I have to shamefacedly admit I haven't yet read Levy but I'd be surprised if there is an overlap. Pete

I, at least, was not allowed access to anything more than a preview
paragraph.  Based on your own (Peter Messent) observation, does this
article hold much in common with the observations of Andrew Levy's "Huck
Finn's America".  Levy dealt quite a bit on the education of children.
