Hal Holbrook, in his 85-page preface to his 1959 book, _Mark Twain
Tonight_, does not write anything to imply that he ever heard a recording
of Twain's voice although he did watch the silent Edison film.

A footnote to an October discussion: yes, Holbrook has used Harnsberger's
_Mark Twain at your Fingertips_ as a source, so he may not be any more
reliable for quotes than Harnsberger.
