A gentle, amiable person, Allison contributed notably to our understanding of Twain's familiarity with the Bible, hymns, and numerous other subjects. More than that, he was a conscientious journal editor and a friendly, sharing presence at Twain conferences. Some individuals are missed more than most when absent; Allison will truly be missed.
