The Supreme Court has begun hearing arguments in the challenge to
the 1998 copyright extension act. CNN's article about it is online at:

Supreme Court takes up future of Mickey Mouse, other classics in
copyright case
http://www.cnn.com/2002/LAW/10/09/scotus.copyrights.ap/index.html

Besides Mickey Mouse, the copyright extension act kept at least
several important Twain books from entering the public domain:
Europe and Elsewhere (1923), Mark Twain's Speeches (1923), and
Mark Twain's Autobiography (1924).
