You have to remember that Twain was raised in the South before the Civil
War.
 I will look into his views on Jews but his transformation and growth from
the "nigger hating" environment he was in to that of a  strong abolitionist
to me is something to be admired.   The only group I can remember him
denouncing was some American Indians.
