Hello Everyone,
The latest issue of ‘Dear Friends’ from Elmira College has arrived in the
mail, but for any of you who have not seen it, you can view it online at
the link below:

The Center for Mark Studies at Elmira College will be hosting a symposium
entitled "Mark Twain and Youth." The symposium will be a celebration of
the upcoming release of an edited volume of academic articles on
the aforementioned topic and a gathering of Twain scholars (a celebration
itself!). The book, *Mark Twain and Youth*, will be released in Summer
2016 and contains an introduction by editors Kevin Mac Donnell and R. Kent
Rasmussen, and a foreword by Hal Holbrook. All royalties from the sale of
this book will be divided equally among the four major Mark Twain centers
at Berkeley, Elmira, Hannibal, and Hartford.
See page 11 for the announcement of the "Mark Twain and Youth" symposium.
As the date draws closer, more information will be forthcoming from the
Center for Mark Twain Studies, but for those planning their 2016 travel
schedules, save the date. A trip to an Elmira College Mark Twain Symposium
makes a good gift (to someone else or yourself). For those of you who’ve
never had a “foretaste of heaven,” Quarry Farm in October must be the time
of year Sam Clemens had in mind when he called it that.
If you have any questions about the symposium, or anything else for that
matter, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Happy holidays to everyone!
Take care,
Joe
