In _Wapping Alice_ (1981, No. 29 in the series of Bancroft Library
Keepsakes) with introduction by Hamlin Hill, the name of the two
involved are Lizzie Wills and Willie Taylor. Hill does offer the
name "Lizzy" as the alternate spelling. Both are most likely
shortened forms of the formal Elizabeth and William but that is
just my guess. A search for the marriage license from Hartford
public records might provide a more conclusive answer.
