Subject: an answer to twain

Dear Twain members,

I have in front of me a booklet entitled "An Answer to Mark Twain". No
author is given. The cover contains a rather colourful illustration of Mark
Twain and E.D.Morel (Secretary of the Congo Reform Assoc). The former has
the word "lie" coming out of his mouth while the latter has "slander"
coming out of his. In the right hand corner of the illustration is "The
Present Belgian Congo" and underneath a quote from Morel "The absolute and
immediate necessities are the disruption of the Congo Free State and its
partition among the Powers." The cover (border) is red; price 1 shilling
net.
46, [2] pages ; numerous black and white photographs.
The title page is a black and white version of the cover. On the back is
printed: "A & G. Bulens Brothers, Editors. 34, Houzeaustreet, Brussels.

A picture of Guy Burrows is on the frontispiece along with E.D.Morel. Two
rather disturbing pictures are on the back cover: one photo has two women
surrounded by pots. It is labelled "Potters at work in the Congo". The
other
is the same photo with the women surrounded by skulls. It is labelled "The
same photo at Liverpool".

We have exhausted our resources here.
Can anyone inform me on who wrote this piece, presumably a reply to Twain's
King Leopold's Soliloquy. This would be appreciated.
