Frances G. Emberson, _A Mark Twain Lexicon_ (Russell and Russell 1963)
translates it as follows: "A manufacturer of marble monuments commemorating
the Moorish mother of the assassins who perpetrated the general massacre of
Mohammedans at Mecca."
