I want to thank Barbara for this heads-up on searching.  I suppose the
hotel had not yet been built at the time Baedeker had written that tour
guide.  I've ordered a later edition in hope it has more information on
this residential hotel.  I want to include it as a location in Twain's
Geography but I've just discovered a technical glitch that prevents me
from adding images.  The advertising image is perfect but leaves me a
bit confused as to the relationship between The Prince of Wales Hotel
and the De Vere Hotel.
