MT is billed prominently on the cover of a recent issue of the _New
Yorker_ (14 June 1993): "Mark Twain: not quite P.C. but America's
greatest voice." The article, by Clive James (pp. 80-90), is ostensibly
a review of _Collected Tales, Sketches, Speeches, & Essays_ (Library of
America). James actually says little about the book, though he says a
fair bit about MT in general, and also addresses MT's attitude toward
racism.
