Mark Twain changed "Celebrated" to "Notorious" in the text he published in
*Mark Twain's Sketches, No. 1* in 1874. That printing became the source for
the
text published in *Sketches, New and Old* published the following year. See
*Early Tales & Sketches, Volume 2* p. 676 for the collation of the titles
used
in 1865.
