   Back in the 70's, PBS ran a very ambitious schedule of Twain
adaptations.  Then in the 1980's, the network got Reaganized.
Now they would be aghast at the very thought of running such a
special - that would be "elitist."  I'm afraid Twain's birthday
will go unnoticed on PBS for a while.
