I'd like to echo Barry Crimmins' sentiments about David Fears' posting that
included the offensive phrase "white enough."  Moreover, such retrograde
notions are not rescued by quoting from Twain.  To the contrary, the attempt
to hide behind a Twain quote on prejudice compounds the problem by imposing
the dishonor of Fears' usage onto Twain as well.  His own attitudes were
complex and deserve not to be further complicated by those who would
appropriate his words to diminish their own offenses.
