Twainiacs in the New York area might be interested in the following
musical that I heard about from an old college friend whose partner
is performing in it:

"beTwixt, beTween & beTWAIN"
Stories and text: Mark Twain
Music, Lyrics and Adaptation: Danny Ashkenasi

A musical revue of Mark Twain's stories and wit. Fun, lighthearted,
a little sentimental, and chock full of melodies. Five modern day
"Troubadours" tell tales, sing tunes and play their own instruments
performing many Twain stories, including favorites and curiosities
such as "The Celebrated Jumping Frog of Caleveras County", "A
Genuine Mexican Plug", "Cannibalism in the Cars", and selections
from "Life on the Mississippi" and "The Innocents Abroad". From the
creators of last year's Poe festival's Tell-Tale Heart - a
musicabre, winner of the Outstanding Music and Lyrics Award at the
FringeNYC Festival '06.

My friend, a professional composer who teaches at Julliard, says
that the music is "beautiful and funny and full of life."

The show runs a little under two hours. It plays four performances
at the Metropolitan Playhouse, 220 East 4th Street between Avenues A
and B, at the following dates and times: Thursday January 25 at
10:00 p.m.; Friday January 26 at 7:00 p.m.; Saturday January 27 at
4:00 p.m., and Sunday January 28 at 1:00 p.m. Tickets may be
purchased at the door or by calling 212.995.5302. They're $18, and
you can buy them with a credit card over the phone with no extra
surcharge. If you happen to get their voice mail when you call,
select the "Twainathon" option and leave your number; they'll call
you back and get your credit card info.

I wish I could be there! Hope some of you get to see the show.
