I have read in THE ORDEAL OF MARK TWAIN (pg 169) that Twain "was
negotiating with an Austrian inventor for a machine that was to be used to
control the carpet weaving industries of the world... "

Does anyone know the details.. the Austrian's name, for example;
or where more information on this enterprise might be found?

I have poked around in lots of places, but find no further mention.

Would be most grateful for a clue!
