I am posting this on behalf of Jill Janows, the writer, Producer and
Director of the upcoming documentary on Huck Finn. -K.B.

WGBH's new 90-minute documentary, "Born to Trouble: Adventures of
Huckleberry Finn," premieres nationally on PBS this Wednesday, January 26,
at 9pm (check local listings) to lead off the Culture Shock documentary
series. The film explores the century of controversy surrounding Twain's
novel and discusses his creation of HUCK as well as its central role in
American history and culture. Along with historical commentary and literary
analysis, the film retells the story of Huck and Jim and presents the
perspective of a mother and daughter in Tempe, Arizona--Kathy Monteiro and
Raquel Panton--who have fought to have the book removed from required a high
school reading list. On-camera interviewees include Shelley Fisher Fishkin,
David Bradley, Jim Miller and Jocelyn Chadwick-Joshua. The film was shot in
Hannibal, Hartford and Boston, with scholarly input from a host of Twain
experts.

I hope everyone will watch.
