Chances are that, when the new edition of the OED is completed, Twain's
total of coinages, like that of Shakespeare and most other major authors,
will greatly diminish. It is worth noting that, when Leon Mead asked Twain
about word-coinage in 1902, Twain denied ever doing such a thing.
