It's too bad that archivist wasn't a subscriber to the Mark Twain
Forum back in 1997 when the hanging article was mentioned.  It's
also too bad that Cyril Clemens' little collections which contained
a reprint of that article (1941) weren't more widely circulated.
It would have reduced embarrassment to claimants for new discoveries
which turn out to be neither new or nor "virtually unknown."

Barb - who uploaded Twain's Chicago Republican Letters to the
web about two years ago.
