The following is from Answers in the Form of Questions: A Definitive History and Insider’s Guide to Jeopardy!, which was written and reported over the past two years. With the tragic death of Alex Trebek, it is dedicated to memory of the host and his extraordinary achievements in more than 36 years behind the Jeopardy! lectern.

Subject: [External] Trebek, Twain and Jeopardy!

In response to John Bird's comments, here is a list of Twain references from a Jeopardy database. It may take 20-30 seconds to gather the results:

https://urldefense.com/v3/__http://www.j-archive.com/search.php?search=Twain&submit=Search__;!!K543PA!aETzWU68QXKwzPw7m7xVY3lcN7YUH5HRk9MBXMt1DnOZbAVs-gnL8yPlsKbB5w$
Hint: Also search for "Kent Rasmussen" as well. He appeared both as a contestant and in a "question to this answer"--
"Calaveras County" & "Hannibal" are entries in R. Kent Rasmussen's book this man "A to Z."
