There was a Star Trek, The next Generation episode
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0708829/  involving time travel to the San
Francisco of the 1890s in which a Mark Twain character played a
significant role. Unfortunately, the character was portrayed as a very
old man - which he was not when he was in SF.
