Well deserved, to put it mildly.  Joseph Hopkins Twichell was a fascinating
individual in his own right, and I can never again think of him as "only"
one of Twain's associates after reading Steve's biography.  The bumbling
sidekick
"Harris" from "A Tramp Abroad" is forever banished.
