I am very sad to hear this news. Lou Budd's generosity as a colleague---always ready to share his time and expertise--was legendary, and I was the beneficiary of it on many occasions. His impressive scholarship helped make it possible for the rest of us to do what we do.   He will, indeed, be missed.
