could also be THE JIM DILEMMA by Jocelyn Chadwick-Joshua; Terrell's
book is more about the history of slavery in Missouri; Jocelyn's book
is more about Twain's African American friends, servants, and
acquaintances. These are 2 excellent books, and they go together
quite well.
