Twain's Letters from 1872-73 gives a brief paragraph about the trip,
saying that he sailed from England to New York on the Batavia with the
journey beginning on November 12, 1872 and ending about two weeks later.

There is reference to the ship and the journey in _A Tramp Abroad_, Vol.
I, Chap. XXVII and another in the essay "All Kinds of Ships."
