The "Satan" letter in support of Rockefeller appears to be related to a
charitable donation that was declined by the agency addressed.  I have not
looked for that donation story in the news archives, but it is probably
there, likely in late March or April 1905. As to Tarbell -- Clemens appears
to have intervened with her regarding Henry H. Rogers and Rogers comes off
pretty well under her scrutiny.  Clemens apparently remained friends with
Tarbell (who was his neighbor in Redding, CT) and a visit with her at
Stormfield is recorded in the MT: DAY BY DAY online database in Vol. 4.
