Yes, my friends, I must emphasize: PLEASE do not turn the old TWAIN-List
into any sort of "political" space for your "political" diatribes. This is
a "literature appreciation" group. If you must speak of politics perhaps
you should join the Jack London or Ayn Rand lists instead....

As for that heretic Hal Holbrook's misguided ruse of turning MT into some
sort of 60s radical socialist .... well, I think you all know where this
sentence is heading.

ps: thanks to Alex for mentioning that undiscovered masterpiece DECODED, by
Jay-Z.

The other day at a Borders, I actually spent 5-6 minutes of my life
(minutes I now regret losing) thumbing through that incoherent mess. It's
possible Mr. Z composed it on a cell-phone, texting it over to his hungry
editors at Big Manhattan Publishers from a stretch limo, given its technical
mischief with the English language. $29 plus tax, merry Christmas, get
that for those hard-to-buy-for relatives.... I'm pretty sure they won't run
out, there was a stack of them down there about 8 feet high.

oops-- was that too political??

cheers, Hal B.
