I know this is a diversion from Twain but might be interesting:  Catharine Beecher, the “lead author” for the 1869 book, was notable for writing the ‘Treatise on Domestic Economy’ (1841) and I at least have to wonder if the 1869 book has Harriet’s name on it to enhance sales recognition.
