In the Sunday, Chicago _Daily Inter Ocean_ for May 19, 1895, there is
an interview of Mark Twain datelined May 18 from New York.  The story
reported that Mark Twain and his family had arrived in NY at the American
line pier that morning and would remain in the city 24 hours. The
