The deadline for proposals for the Mark Twain Circle's two sessions at next
year's MLA is a week from today, Friday, March 15. Please send me proposals
for either:

The Mark Twain Circle’s Call for Papers: MLA 2014 (Chicago, January 2014)
1. Mark Twain’s Style(s)–Analysis of Twain’s style in fiction or nonfiction.
Preference will be given to papers that break new ground or challenge old
assumptions.
2. Beyond Huck and Pudd’nhead: Mark Twain and Race–Analysis of Twain and
racial issues in works other than the two most commonly examined texts.
Send 300-word abstracts to John Bird by 15 March 2013: [log in to unmask]
After acceptance, presenters will be required to be members of both MLA and
the Mark Twain Circle.
