There are several directories of listservs on
all topics (not just literature). One of the
best is liszt.com (yes, like the composer).
It has about 90,000 lists, including
subscription info. It also has newsgroups and
IRC chat groups in separate directories. No
Melville group is listed; however, there are
lists for George Eliot, Fitzgerald, Wilde,
Hemingway and many others.

By the way, it's also a good way to figure
the UNSUBSCRIBE info for a list. Just follow
the subscribe instructions, but add the UN.
