Mark Twain in Popular Culture Department: Does anyone know the status of two
films on Mark Twain that are supposedly in the works? One of them is about
his interest in Mary Baker Eddy and will apparently start Val Kilmer (see
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Aei4Ttb4-g) and the other directed by Clint
Eastwood and produced by Albert S. Ruddy (Hogan's Heroes, The Godfather). In
the latter, according to 2008 Internet gossip, quoting Ruddy, Eastwood may
play the aging Clemens "in the hospital" at the end of his life as a frame
for the biopic.

If anyone has a reality check on all this, I'd be interested.
