History would have been different!
      In 1862 Sam, in the mining camp of Aurora, then thought to be in California, 
      considered applying as the town's correspondent in for the Union, then the 
      most important paper in California, but did not follow through.
That is so cool!
 
    When Miller wascompiling the First Constitutional Convention articles for the book youmention, 


    he compiled the thick pile of notes left by the secretary in a singlefile. That stack of paper is in 


    the Nevada State   Archives. I have the onlyknown Xerox copy of those pages, ...
