***** Attention dial-up modem users *****

There have been two modifications made to the 736-6001 modem pool.

1) It has been expanded to include 144 modems.

 2) Previously, 736-6001 modem support was restricted to v.32 and
    v.32bis only (9600bps and 14400 bps respectively).
    Be advised that v.22bis (2400 bps) support has now been added.
    V.22bis users familiar with the 736-5258 pool are aware that
    error-control and data compression is not supported in that pool.
    These features ARE supported in the 736-6001pool. Please note, a
    dial-up account is required and can be obtained from the helpdesk.
