An operating system failure on the Mercury Email server earlier
today, May 14th, has caused system-wide file corruption
necessitating a full retore of the system.   The  restore is
estimated to take 8 hours and therefore will complete at
approximatly 10:30 pm.

Until the restore is completed anyone who normally accesses
their email home directory from Mercury using ZMail for Windows
or another product such as Pine or Siren, will not have access
to email.  Also during this time these users will not be able
to read their mail using ZMail Lite or Pine from home.

Email delivery is fully functional for those not using Mercury
for their email home directory.

Please pass this information on to anyone you feel might be
affected.
